Lacy Hubbard, President and CEO of Elekta Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“London Global Cancer Week: Cancer Health Disparities – From Awareness to Action
London Global Cancer Week creates a unique and valuable space where clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and advocates come together to share insights, exchange experiences, and advance global efforts in cancer control.
Yesterday I joined the final day of the week, a dedicated one-day event on “Cancer Health Disparities: From Awareness to Action,” held at Conway Hall in London.
The room was full of honest dialogue, practical insights, and heartfelt stories from people committed to closing the gaps in cancer care for underserved countries and minority communities globally. Listening to others reminded me how much progress has been made and gave me hope for what is possible.
I had the honor of delivering the closing keynote, sharing reflections on the future of cancer equity. I shared three lessons that have shaped the Elekta Foundation’s journey: be ambitious, be innovative, and take a systematic approach.

The global cancer burden is real and urgent. By 2040, the world is projected to see 25 percent more new cancer cases, with the fastest growth expected in low-resource countries. We must act now and act faster. We must work together.
Thank you, Dr Olubukola Ayodele, for inviting me to contribute, and congratulations to London Global Cancer Week for another impactful and successful week.”
