“It’s official – I am now Dr. Katie-Lou White!
My PhD thesis entitled ‘Multispectral Endoscopes for Early Cancer Detection’ covered the development and testing of novel multispectral sensors and the design of a first-in-human clinical trial using a retrofit clinical endoscope to investigate Barrett’s Esophagus.
Thank you so much to my amazing supervisor Sarah Bohndiek and my wonderful group at Vision Lab. A special shout-out to Calum Williams for being a fantastic day-to-day supervisor, teacher and mentor throughout the novel sensor work, and to Isabelle Racicot and Massimiliano di Pietro without whom the HySE trial could never have happened.
To my group new and old – I love you guys so much and I’ve been so grateful to work with you over the past four years.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the funding bodies and institutions who supported and invested in my research.”
