I asked Douglas Flora, MD, LSSBB about patient trust in AI in oncology. As some of you may already know patient trust lags behind clinician trust but the specifics are complicated. Trust in AI varies wildly based on use case and context.
One big takeaway is that pressure to improve literacy isn’t just coming from the usual suspects of limited resources and increased demand. Patients are walking into the consultation room with a diagnosis from a chatbot.
I had a primer on this last week in a webinar afterparty courtesy of W Angus Wallace, this phenomenon isn’t a rerun of ‘Dr Google’ it is much different in nature.
