Joanna Metzner-Sadurski, Medical Doctor at Self Regional Healthcare and Executive Director of Oncology101.org, shared posts about ACCC Leadership Summit on LinkedIn:
“Health policy isn’t abstract-it directly shapes how our patients experience cancer care.
Great to see the work of Deborah Kamin, leading policy and advocacy at ASCO. Her focus on clinical guidance, performance measurement, and national policy reminds us that behind every regulation is a real patient trying to access care, treatment, and hope.
In oncology, where cancer is increasingly managed as a chronic disease, policy decisions influence everything-from access to therapies to the sustainability of community cancer programs.
We need strong physician voices at the table. Conversations like these are critical to ensuring that policy reflects the realities we see every day in clinic-especially in rural and underserved communities.
Always great to hear Barbara McAneny-such a powerful and consistent voice for oncology practices.

AI in oncology is no longer theoretical-it’s here, and it’s already reshaping how we deliver care.
At the ACCC Leadership Summit, discussions focused on real-world applications: clinical decision support, workflow optimization, and-critically-clinical trial matching.
Great to see Arturo LoAIza-Bonilla leading in this space-connecting AI with real-world oncology practice and expanding access to clinical trials.
Clinical trials remain one of the most underutilized tools in cancer care, with fewer than 5% of adult patients participating. AI has the potential to change that by identifying eligible patients in real time, reducing missed opportunities, and bringing trials closer to where patients receive care.
But technology alone isn’t enough.
- We need infrastructure.
- We need navigation.
- And we need patients to truly understand their disease, their treatment, and clinical trials.
Health literacy is not optional-it’s foundational. If patients don’t understand, we fail them.
The future isn’t AI replacing physicians-it’s AI augmenting our ability to connect patients to the right care, at the right time.
Always great tosttrnd meeting with Ruiling Yuan – Such insightful observations

Great to see Debra Patt, an incredible leader at the intersection of oncology, policy, and innovation (and gorgeous too!)
Her work continues to shape how we think about value-based care, access, and the sustainability of community oncology. These conversations are critical as we navigate an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.
Strong advocacy like this ensures that patient-centered care remains at the forefront.
Also great to see Julie Gralow, at the ACCC Leadership Summit-an unstoppable advocate for oncology and for patients. Her leadership continues to shape the future of cancer care.
Ruiling Yuan, ASCO advocacy award recipient was here too.
ASCO is in great hands.”
