“Time for yet another appointment.
- Another doctor
- Another screening
- Another test
- More waiting
- More anxiety
- More stress
- More unknown
More weight that we as cancer patients have to deal with, an its different from other people outside the cancer world
Today it’s the dermatologist but any and every screening just hits different after being diagnosed be it dermatologist colonoscopy or any other of the countless we have to do
It’s something most of the world or society can’t really understand because they don’t know how it feels to face this after being diagnosed and it don’t matter if you’re still dealing with active cancer or In remission, NED or cancer free. It needs to be talked about as much as scanxiety and as acknowledged for how it impacts us as a trigger because of the emotional and mental weight it brings into our lives at constant intervals
Don’t feel weak or weird or think that you shouldn’t be having any feelings thoughts or emotions as you get ready for these appointments as you wait on results that is normal and completely understandable.”
