Jia Jenny Liu, Conjoint Associate Professor at UNSW, shared on LinkedIn:
“What does personalised cancer care mean to the person receiving it?
That question is at the heart of this year’s theme: ‘The precision generation: From cancer prevention to personalised care.’
It has been a privilege to co-convene this meeting alongside Malinda Itchins, working with our program committee and the COSA team Marie Malica and Fran Doughton to bring together perspectives from across cancer care.
I’m particularly excited to welcome our international speakers Herbert Loong, Tara Horrill and Jessica Keen who will share global perspectives on emerging science, precision oncology and the evolving challenges of delivering personalised cancer care.
For me, personalised care means connecting our growing understanding of cancer biology with each person’s priorities, experiences and access to care.
That takes the whole multidisciplinary team and meaningful partnership with people affected by cancer.
Across three days, we’ll explore prevention and screening, advances in lung cancer, supportive care, equity and the workforce needed to deliver better outcomes.
Thank you to everyone contributing their science, experience and ideas.
Malinda and I look forward to welcoming you to Sydney!
ICC Sydney | 11–13 November 2026
Full program now available.”
This theme reflects how far cancer care has evolved; from a one-size-fits-all rigid approach, to care that is increasingly tailored to the individual, across the entire cancer journey.
The disease theme has a strong focus on lung cancers. As always, equity is embedded throughout the program, reflecting COSA’s ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for all people affected by cancer.
In response to delegate feedback, we are refreshing the format in 2026.
We are expanding the Welcome Function in the exhibition hall on Wednesday 11 November, this is a FREE event open to all delegates, so be sure to select it when you register.
There will be no formal conference dinner on Thursday evening, allowing delegates the flexibility to reconnect with colleagues across Sydney or attend one of the sponsored dinner symposia. Stay tuned for more information.
We look forward to seeing you in November 2026.
