Jennifer Douglas, Writer and DCIS Breast Cancer Patient Advocate, shared a post on X:
“Before cancer, I never thought about what it cost me to fold the laundry, plan the meals, run the errands, hold the day together. I just did it.
Then came treatment, and the restrictions, and the fatigue that isn’t ‘tired,’ and suddenly every ordinary task had a price tag I could finally see. Some things got harder. Some things I couldn’t do at all for a while.
Nobody warns you that the invisible work of a normal life has a cost. You only learn it when you have to start paying attention.”
