Jenna Dean, Senior Research Radiation Therapist at The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Insightful discussions at the ESTRO “Amplifying Radiotherapy Voices” session, highlighting the importance of raising awareness of radiotherapy and advocating for equitable access to cancer treatment worldwide.
Radiotherapy is a safe, effective, and cost-effective treatment with a role in around 50% of cancer treatments; improving outcomes, reducing recurrence, and enhancing quality of life. Despite this, access remains limited across many regions.
These conversations are an important reminder of the need to advocate for patient access to radiotherapy and to continue investing in workforce, research, technology, and patient-centred care.”
