“I’m honored to share our newest Patient Centered Dosing Initiative (PCDI) publication.
What makes this publication unique is that it isn’t simply about the patient experience – it is written by people living with metastatic breast cancer.
As a co-author, I’m incredibly proud of this patient-led collaboration. Together, we combine lived experience, patient perspectives, community voices, and evidence to highlight the importance of quality of life, toxicity management, shared decision-making, patient-reported outcomes, supportive care, and more thoughtful dose optimization as ADC use continues to expand.
This publication is also deeply personal.
For Amy Beumer, this wasn’t simply research. It was a direct reflection of her lived experience with metastatic breast cancer and the toxicities of ADC treatment. She believed the patient voice belonged in the evidence, and she worked tirelessly to ensure it was.
Amy died on June 4 before this paper was published, making this one of several publications released posthumously bearing her name. While heartbreaking, I’m grateful that her voice, expertise, and advocacy will continue to influence researchers, clinicians, regulators, and patients for years to come.
