Harish Nagaraj, Head of Nuclear Medicine and In-Charge of the Integrated Molecular Imaging Centre (IMIC) at KUTRRH, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A proud moment for Kenya!
Another milestone in our journey to advance precision oncology and molecular imaging.
We are excited to celebrate the introduction of the Ga-based CAIX PET tracer in Kenya—a major step forward for the diagnosis and management of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and an important achievement for the region.
This novel tracer targets Carbonic Anhydrase IX (CAIX), providing highly specific imaging for clear cell RCC with the potential to improve disease detection, staging, treatment planning, and assessment of recurrence.
Every new tracer introduced strengthens our nuclear medicine capabilities and brings world-class, patient-centered cancer care closer to home.
Here’s to continued innovation, collaboration, and making advanced molecular imaging more accessible across Kenya and beyond.”
