Hadi Mohamad Abu Rasheed: Launch of The Personalised Cancer Care Alliance (PCCA) Position Paper 2.0

Hadi Mohamad Abu Rasheed, Scientific Advisor at the Qatar Cancer Society and Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Doha for Science and Technology, shared a post by Personalised Cancer Care Alliance on LinkedIn, adding:

“Today, I am proud to participate in the launch of the Personalised Cancer Care Alliance (PCCA) Position Paper 2.0: From Theory to Practice.

This milestone is personally meaningful to me because I had the opportunity to contribute to the GCC chapter, particularly through the lens of Qatar’s experience and the role of Qatar Cancer Society in advancing people-centred cancer care.

For me, Personalised Cancer Care is not only about innovation, genomics, or advanced treatment pathways. It is also about making sure that cancer care reflects the real needs of patients, survivors, caregivers, and communities.

Through my work at Qatar Cancer Society, I continue to see how advocacy can shape better systems: raising awareness, reducing stigma, supporting early detection, strengthening patient navigation, improving psychosocial support, and ensuring that people affected by cancer are meaningfully included in decision-making.

The GCC chapter is an important step because it shows that patient organisations across Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are not working at the margins of cancer control. We are becoming strategic partners in shaping policy, strengthening health literacy, improving access, and translating the Five Ps of Personalised Cancer Care into practice: Predictive, Preventative, Participatory, Personalised, and Pre-emptive care.

I am grateful to have been part of this collective regional effort and proud to represent Qatar’s contribution to this important agenda.

My commitment moving forward is clear: to continue strengthening my role in Personalised Cancer Care advocacy, support regional collaboration, and help ensure that patient voices are not only heard, but embedded in cancer policy and practice across the GCC.

Thank you to International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO), AlignnEficient Health Consultancies, Dani Mothci, Dr. Sawsan AlMadhi and all partners and patient advocates who contributed to this important work.”
