“Join us in Brussels for the High-Level Conference on ‘The Right to Be Forgotten as a Human Right: Ending Financial Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors’, which will take place on 21 October.
The Right To Be Forgotten is becoming an increasingly important issue across Europe. While progress is being made in a number of countries, too many cancer survivors still face unfair barriers when seeking access to mortgages, loans and insurance after their treatment has ended.
This conference, which I am co-organising with Professor Mark Lawler, will provide an opportunity to hear directly from cancer survivors and to bring together policymakers, clinicians, legal and human-rights experts and advocates committed to ending this discrimination.
Held as an Associated Event of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026, the discussion will focus on how we can ensure that progress is translated into meaningful and lasting protection for cancer survivors across Europe.
