“A stimulating two days at D4 2026 – Data Driven Digital Diagnostics in Salzburg, bringing together radiology, laboratory medicine, data science, health policy and technology around a shared question: how do we turn the extraordinary potential of health data and AI into better care for patients?
I was delighted to contribute with my lecture,
‘Radiomics and AI: Leveraging Imaging Data for Public Health.’
Having worked with imaging and AI across research, clinical practice and, more recently, healthcare policy, I am increasingly convinced that the next challenge is not simply developing better algorithms. It is creating the data infrastructure, standards, governance and clinical pathways that allow innovation to work at scale – safely, equitably and with measurable benefit for patients.
What I particularly enjoyed about D4 was the interdisciplinary conversation. Imaging, laboratory and clinical data should not live in separate worlds. Their real value emerges when we connect them.
