Advancing Breast Cancer Care in Europe: Insights from STOP Cancer 2026

I had the honor of participating in the 10th Symposium on Personalized Translational Oncology (STOP Cancer 2026), held on April 14–17 in Bucharest – a remarkable event that brought together Romanian professionals from across the world, united by a shared commitment to advancing cancer care.

This symposium highlighted not only scientific progress, but also the strength of international collaboration and the importance of reconnecting expertise across borders.

In my roles as National Delegate – Europa Donna Belgium and Breast Cancer Surgeon, this experience reinforced my mission to:

  • advocate for the rights of breast cancer patients
  • promote equitable access to screening, diagnosis, and high-quality treatment
  • support patient education and informed decision-making
  • contribute to aligning national practices with European standards
  • foster collaboration between countries to advance personalized medicine

Meeting dedicated colleagues and partners opened real opportunities to build meaningful collaborations and transform shared goals into concrete actions.

Together, we can strengthen the voice of Europa Donna and improve outcomes for patients across Europe.
