“If you couldn’t come, please watch it on demand, still work to do, we need more hands.”

The ESMO 2026 Women for Oncology event focused on promoting gender equality in oncology and recognizing women’s contributions to the field. This year’s award went to Professor Pilar Garrido, who delivered a lecture titled “Gender Matters: Shaping Better Science in Oncology.” She highlighted the importance of considering sex and gender in cancer research, while also stressing the need for stronger mentorship, support, and more opportunities for women to take on leadership roles in oncology.
