“Beyond the Prescription: Redefining the Oncology Pharmacist’s Role in Modern Breast Cancer Care
It was a great pleasure to participate last Sunday, October 11th, in the 2nd Pharmacy Summit at The British University in Egypt (BUE), surrounded by distinguished academics, healthcare professionals, and colleagues sharing a common passion for advancing patient care.
During my talk, I had the opportunity to share our experience at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center (BCCC-NCI), highlighting an important message:
The future of oncology pharmacy goes far beyond dispensing medications. It is about becoming an integral partner in the patient’s journey.
From medication safety and managing drug interactions to patient education, navigation, treatment adherence, and optimizing healthcare resources, oncology pharmacists have an increasingly important role in delivering safer, smarter, and truly patient-centered cancer care.
I particularly enjoyed sharing our practical experience in integrating multidisciplinary collaboration, structured patient education, and innovative healthcare delivery models into everyday oncology practice.
Because excellent cancer care is never the achievement of one specialty. It is the result of an empowered, integrated team working around the patient.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Rana Magdy and Dr. Noha El Baghdady for their kind invitation, wonderful organization, and warm hospitality.
Special thanks to the distinguished chairpersons of my session, Prof. Abdel-Moneim Osman, Prof. Mohamed Sayed-Ahmed, and Prof. Marwa Hamza, for their valuable presence and for enriching the scientific discussions.
Congratulations to the Faculty of Pharmacy at BUE for bringing together such an inspiring scientific gathering.
Looking forward to further collaborations that translate scientific knowledge into meaningful improvements in patient care.
Beyond the prescription, beyond traditional boundaries, and always closer to our patients.”
