Emad Shash Celebrates Five ESMO 2026 Abstract Acceptances

Emad Shash, General Manager at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

Allhamdoullah.

I am proud to share that our team at the Breast Cancer Comprehensive Center, National Cancer Institute, Cairo University has had five abstracts accepted at ESMO 2026, in Madrid.

This is more than a conference achievement. It is a reflection of a growing institutional research culture built around real-world oncology practice, multidisciplinary teamwork, implementation science, and patient-centered care.

What makes this achievement meaningful is the story behind it.

These abstracts represent the work of physicians, patient navigators, patient educators, clinical pharmacists, clinical nutrition specialists, data teams, researchers, and collaborators who believed that improving cancer care should not stop at service delivery. It should be measured, analyzed, challenged, and shared.

They also represent a direction we deeply believe in: that high-quality oncology research from Egypt and the region can contribute to global discussions, especially when it is grounded in real patients, real systems, and real implementation challenges.

My sincere congratulations and gratitude to Dr. Reem Eid, Dr. Ghada Emam, Dr. Rania Al Najar, Dr. Mona Elhosary, Dr. Fatma Bektash, Dr. Zeinab Abdelwhab, BCOP, our amazing collaborator from the EHA Dr. Radwa Emam and every member of the incredible research teams behind these projects.

Proud of the team.

Proud of NCI Cairo University.

Proud of our collaboration with The Egyptian Health Authority.

Proud to see Egyptian oncology research represented at ESMO 2026.”
