Emad Shash, Leading Cancer Researcher and Director at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I was honored to be invited to AbbVie’s premises in Egypt to deliver an ovarian cancer awareness session in recognition of World Ovarian Cancer Day, with colleagues joining onsite from Egypt and virtually from Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
The session was a meaningful opportunity to engage with AbbVie colleagues on a topic that deserves more attention, earlier conversations and stronger awareness. Ovarian cancer awareness is not only about knowing the disease, it is about helping people recognize warning signs, understand risk factors and encourage timely medical conversations.
During the session, we focused on three practical messages:
- Know the signs and risk factors
- See how ovarian cancer care and awareness are evolving
- Act within our different roles to support education, empathy and earlier action
A sincere thank you to Dr Asmaa Anwar, Dr Mohamed Magdy Youssef, Dr Gisele Hayek and Dr Medhat Moustafa for the kind invitation, excellent organization and valuable support in making this session engaging and impactful.
It was inspiring to see such strong cross-country participation from Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, and a shared commitment to turning awareness into action.”
