Elizabeth Awo-Ejeh, Breast Cancer Survivor and Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What breast cancer could never take from me… is my voice.
When I was first diagnosed, I was scared to speak up. Scared of what people would say. Scared of the judgment, the whispers, the pity. Society made it seem like cancer was something to hide, something you don’t talk about out loud.
But silence doesn’t save lives. Awareness does.
The more I speak, the more people understand how real this disease is. The more I share, the more women/men pay attention to their health, schedule screenings, and take action.
So now, I refuse to be quiet.
This is Pink October, and I will keep using my voice to educate, to encourage, and to remind you that early detection saves lives.
Let’s break the silence. Let’s fight the stigma. Let’s start the conversation.
Because one voice… can save another life.”
