Eduardo Bruera, Chair of the Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine and Medical Director of the Supportive Care Center at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Sage Journals:
“A Brazilian study of 248 non-cancer patients in home palliative care (mean age 80.8) found neurological/circulatory diseases most common. Median stay was 50 days, with high functional decline and frequent visits. All died at home, underscoring the need to expand palliative services.”
