Lived Experience Advocacy Hub research opportunity: Participants for Diversity QoL Project- Interviews

What is it?
The purpose of this project is to understand what may make it difficult for people from sexual and gender minority (SGM/LGBTQIA+) communities to take part in cancer trials and/or quality of life research. It is important that people from different backgrounds and experiences are represented in research, so that the results are relevant to everyone. We want to make sure that cancer research studies are welcoming and accessible to all. By learning more about the barriers people may face, we can provide recommendations to researchers to help make cancer research more inclusive and support health equity.
Who can apply?
Patients/survivors with cancer diagnosis at age 18 years old or later; self-identify as LGBTQIA+; and participate(d) in cancer trial or quality of life research

What will you gain?
- Scientific Influence: Contribute to making cancer research more accessible and relevant for SGM/LGBTQIA+ communities.
- Representation: Ensure that the voices, experiences, and needs of SGM/LGBTQIA+ people are reflected in future cancer research.
- Advocacy Experience: Practical experience collaborating with a leading international research organisation.
Quick Facts
- Time: The interview takes about 60 minutes.
- Languages: Prefer patients that speak English or Dutch.
- Format: Is the participation online, in-person, or hybrid? Hybrid: online with Teams for patients that live outside the Netherlands and in-person in Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam also possible for patients in the Netherlands.
- Compensation: Voluntary.
- Deadline: No end date yet interviews will continue until saturation is reached.
