Dan Theodorescu, Director at the University of Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m excited to share that our Convergent Science Virtual Cancer Center has received a $1.7M grant from the Department of Defense to continue advancing cancer research with a focus on military health. This is the second iteration of the program with the inaugural one beginning in 2021.
This innovative program, jointly led by me at the University of Arizona Comprehensive Cancer Center and my friend Peter Kuhn at the Convergent Science Institute in Cancer at University of Southern California, takes a bold, cross-disciplinary approach toward enhancing the training the next generation of cancer researchers.
Through immersive workshops, individualized mentorship, and a curriculum grounded in convergent science principles, we’re preparing scholars to address complex cancer challenges more effectively and more rapidly. This work exemplifies our mission to translate research into real-world impact. I’m honored to lead such a visionary initiative.
