Claudia De Pasquale: Research Needs Advocates and Advocates Need Research

Claudia De Pasquale, Patient Advocate and LBBC Young Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Most of my work as a cancer patient advocate has focused on media and storytelling – helping others find resources and hope. But through my LBBC Young Advocate training, I’ve become increasingly drawn to research advocacy – making sure the patient voice helps shape the science that shapes our care.

Yesterday in San Francisco, I joined Stacey Tinianov and incredible advocates from the colorectal, pancreatic, and breast cancer communities to learn about ARTIDIS, a technology with the potential to transform outcomes in solid tumors.

It was an honor to meet and learn from brilliant minds, including Dr. Marija Plodinec (Artedis founder and CEO), Carolina Ortiz Velez, MD, Tobias A. Appenzeller, and Anna Kalichava, PhD – all working at the intersection of research and patient impact. This innovation brings so much hope for better, faster answers and more personalized cancer care.

One thing became clear: research needs advocates – and advocates need research.

When we work together, innovation becomes not only brilliant but truly human.

My sincere thanks to Stacey Tinianov for connecting us and creating space for these powerful conversations.”
