Cassandra Isley, Chief Executive Officer of MADP Alliance for Disease Prevention, shared on LinkedIn:
“Today marks an important milestone for MADP Alliance for Disease Prevention with the launch of the MADP Patient Advocacy Alliance.
Throughout my career, I have come to believe that some of the most important voices in healthcare are those of patients themselves. Having experienced the profound impact of cancer far too closely – no scientific publication or clinical guideline can replace the perspective and wisdom gained through lived experience.
I am honored to welcome Marybeth Gilliam, Founder of Outperform Cancer, as an inaugural member of the Alliance. Marybeth is the founder of Outperform Cancer, a podcast and patient education platform dedicated to translating evidence-based, actionable anti-cancer strategies into practical knowledge for patients.
As a metastatic breast cancer patient and long-term survivor with no evidence of disease, Marybeth brings together leading researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates to help patients better understand the science behind precision medicine, biomarker testing, cancer vaccines, exercise oncology, lifestyle strategies, and other advances that may improve outcomes. Her earlier career in healthcare market research and strategy also gave her a deep understanding of patient needs and opportunities to improve care delivery.
It is an honor for MADP to feature the Outperform Cancer podcasts within the MADP Alliance for Disease Prevention website and the MADP Circle of Hope Cancer Support Hub, connecting more patients and families with this valuable educational resource.
My sincere thanks to Jed Fahey, a instrumental member of the MADP Collaborative Alliance, for making this introduction and helping bring together organizations that share this commitment.
Together, we are building a community where patient voices are heard – and no one faces cancer alone.”
