International Journal of Cancer shared a post about an article published by Karen Steindorf et al. in International Journal of Cancer, on LinkedIn, adding:
A large multinational trial from the team of Karen Steindorf shows that an exercise program can ease symptoms like vaginal dryness and chemotherapy side effects in women with metastatic Breast Cancer.
Women with metastatic breast cancer often experience non-life-threatening but unpleasant symptoms, including low sexual enjoyment and vaginal dryness, but these symptoms have not been well-studied and treatments are lacking.
Here, the authors conducted a large, multinational randomized controlled trial of exercise in women with metastatic breast cancer.
After 9 months, women participating in the supervised, structured exercise program found that their symptoms improved, including a reduction of chemotherapy side effects.”
Quoting Union of International Cancer Control‘s post:
“It is encouraging to see that some of the symptoms experienced by women suffering from metastatic breast cancer improved after following a supervised exercise programme with the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center.”
