Brandon Luu: Alternative Medicine Alone Linked to Higher Mortality in Breast Cancer

Brandon Luu, Respirology Fellow at  Queen’s University, shared a post on X:

“For breast cancer, alternative medicine alone was linked to a 267% higher mortality hazard. Even when combined with standard treatment, mortality hazard was still 45% higher.

Modern oncology saves lives. Please consider using it.”

Allison Fitzgerald, Hematology/Oncology Clinical Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared Brandon Luu’s post, adding:

“This is a very important study for clinical practice. In patients with breast cancer, adding alternative medicine to traditional cancer treatment Reduced overall survival. The study reports patients who received alternative care were less likely to complete standard care.”
