Anna Wassman: Running a Ballet Company for the Breast Cancer Community

Anna Wassman, Founder and Executive Director of Onco-Ballet Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:

“Never thought being diagnosed with breast cancer at 25 years and again at 29 years, would lead me to running a ballet company for the cancer community and the ringing of the Nasdaq closing bell in Times Square with BCRF on the first day of Breast Cancer Awaresness Month, but wow was it an amazing experience.

Having cancer young has never been easy, but I am grateful that I have found my way to give directly back to my fellow cancer patients, survivors and thrivers through the Onco-Ballet Foundation and it has led my life into so many new and exciting directions I could have never imagined possible.

Thank you to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for inviting OncoBallet to perform for the second year in a row at Grand Central Station! It was such a joy seeing our dancers perform alongside the professional Broadway singers from the Janice Jam Broadway for Breast Cancer singers.

I am also so grateful to all of the wonderful people in the breast cancer community Sadia Haque Zapp, Sally Wolf, Mahwish Syed, Anna Crollman, Abigail Simon, and so many countless more survivors and thrivers. Thank you all for making the start to BCAM2026 unforgettable!”
