“Artificial intelligence has enormous potential to improve cancer screening but its impact will depend on much more than the algorithms.
At the World Cancer Congress, I’m looking forward to co-chairing a session with Partha Basu to discuss how AI can move from innovation to impact in cervical and breast cancer screening. We’ll explore not only the evidence behind these technologies, but also what it takes to implement them safely, equitably, and at scale.
Technology alone does not transform health. The real challenge is translating innovation into better outcomes for patients through strong health systems, implementation, and equitable access. Looking forward to a great discussion with colleagues from around the world.
