“I am truly honored to deliver the keynote speech at ESMO/EONS19 titled ‘The Potential of AI and Other Technological Advances to Improve Cancer Outcomes.’
As technology continues to transform cancer care, we must look beyond what innovation can achieve and ask the questions we too often overlook: Are we addressing the right needs? What barriers stand in the way of meaningful progress, and what can facilitate the translation of technological advances into better outcomes for people affected by cancer?
Keeping the person at the center of the conversation, I will explore the dos and don’ts of integrating artificial intelligence and other technological innovations into cancer care. I will reflect on the importance of balancing technological possibilities with human needs, clinical judgment, ethical responsibility, equity, and compassionate care.
Because progress is not measured by technology alone, but by its ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Join me on October 24 at 8:30 a.m. at the Segovia Auditorium, during the Opening Ceremony, as we explore how innovation can help shape a more effective, equitable, and person-centered future for cancer care.
I look forward to sharing this conversation with you!”
