“Honored to be invited to speak at the ASCO Educational Session featuring the “Best of JCO Global Oncology,” where I will discuss the evolving role of Oral Metronomic Chemotherapy (OMCT) in Head and Neck Cancer.
It is encouraging to see increasing global recognition that impactful cancer research must extend beyond efficacy alone and address affordability, accessibility, feasibility, and real-world implementation—particularly for patients in resource-constrained settings.
Over the past few years, growing evidence from India and other LMICs has demonstrated that scientifically rigorous, lower-cost treatment strategies can meaningfully improve patient outcomes while remaining scalable and sustainable. Oral metronomic approaches, especially when thoughtfully integrated with immunotherapy and targeted therapy, represent an important step toward more globally applicable cancer care.
I am grateful to ASCO, JCO Global Oncology, my mentors, collaborators, and patients who continue to inspire this work in global oncology.
