Ahmet Dirican, Professor of Medical Oncology at Medicana International İzmir Hospital, shared a post on X:
“The Euro-Ewing Consortium reviewed 108 clinical trials conducted over the last decade in relapsed and refractory Ewing sarcoma.
What did all those studies teach us?
That Ewing sarcoma is unlikely to be defeated by chemotherapy alone. After years of limited progress, the field is now turning toward the disease’s core biology:
- EWSR1-FLI1 fusion targeting
- DNA repair vulnerabilities (PARP/ATR)
- Cellular therapies targeting B7-H3 and GD2
- Biomarker-driven combination strategies
The road remains long. But for the first time, it feels like we are aiming at the right targets.”
