Lung Ambition Alliance Middle East & Africa (LAA MEA) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Lung Cancer Awareness Month reminds us why early detection truly saves lives.
As part of our LAA MEA SteerCo Spotlight, we’re highlighting why November is such a critical month in the fight against lung cancer. Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, yet it doesn’t have to be.
With effective screening and early detection, five-year overall survival can reach up to 93% in early-stage disease, often sparing patients from more intensive targeted or immunotherapy-based treatments.
By diagnosing lung cancer earlier, we shift from treating advanced, complex disease to offering more effective, less toxic options that improve survival and quality of life for patients.
This month’s spotlight features insights from Dr. Ahmed Magdy Rabea, Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University.”
