Wafik S. El-Deiry, Director of Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University and Chair of the WIN Consortium in Cancer Personalized Medicine, shared a post on X:
“US government funding for cancer research brings hope and cures for children and adults with cancer.
This needs resuscitation and investment as it is currently on life support receiving last rites. We need a modern day Mary Lasker for rebirth of war on cancer in the 21st century.
The burden from cancer is bipartisan as each person is touched by cancer through family and friends. The community also needs more innovation, collaboration and global impact.”
