Abdu Adem Yesufe: Strategic Collaboration for Nuclear Medicine Services in Ethiopia

Abdu Adem Yesufe, Program Director of Adult Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College- SPHMMC, shared on LinkedIn:

“Strategic Collaboration for Nuclear Medicine Services in Ethiopia

I’m thrilled to report on a highly fruitful visit with the technical expertise team from Rosatom which is a global leader in nuclear medicine, key supplier of medical isotope over 50 countries, and developer of nuclear medicine centers worldwide.
We were delighted to host team at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College– SPHMMC, and their engagement was focused on providing essential input for our planned nuclear medicine services (both diagnostic and therapeutic). The discussions also established a strong foundation for future collaboration in infrastructure, human resource development, and research.

Given that our institution and country are new to this complex field, Rosatom expertise technical guidance is instrumental in our efforts to successfully implement and avail these much-needed services. Their input has been invaluable as we lay the groundwork, especially considering the challenges of being a beginner with no previous experience.

Moreover, our project to harness the benefits of this technology is in perfect alignment with the National and Ministry of Health policies supporting the peaceful use of nuclear energy for national development and advanced healthcare.

I am excited about the prospects this partnership holds for enhancing the medical care in Ethiopia.”
