“Birthdays are supposed to be a time of happiness and celebration, but it was the complete opposite for Jen. On her birthday in November 2022, Jen’s world took an unexpected turn when her daughter, Savannah, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, metastatic to both lungs.

Since then, Savannah has undergone an above-the-knee amputation of her right leg, two lung surgeries, and 30 weeks of chemotherapy, which concluded in September 2023. Her scans were clear at that time.

However, 3 months later in January 2024, scans showed that the cancer had returned to her lungs, leading to two more lung surgeries.

Savannah is still undergoing chemo, and while much worse than her first round, Jen knows it’s the best option for her daughter. To protect Savannah from the harsh side effects of chemo, methane blue is added, which turns everything blue, including urine and sweat.

Kids deserve less toxic treatments. In honor of kids like Savannah and National Cancer Survivor Month, donate to give kids the best chance at living long and healthy lives.”
