NCI Center for Cancer Research – Alka Dwivedi was honored in this year’s list of TIME100 Most Influential in Health

NCI Center for Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:

“IN THE NEWS: If you haven’t heard yet, Dr. Alka Dwivedi, now a postdoctoral fellow in our Pediatric Oncology Branch, was honored in this year’s list of TIME100 Most Influential in Health. What an incredible honor!

While working as a graduate student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Dr. Dwivedi and her team came together to create NexCar19, an immunotherapy treatment for cancer patients that is one-tenth the cost of CAR T-cell therapy.

‘This is a big achievement for India,’ Dwivedi told the Maryland-based National Cancer Institute, where she is now continuing to train at the Center for Cancer Research. ‘It’s the team effort that brought us here.'”
