Celebrating 5-year anniversary of being cancer-free Jennifer’s daughter, Inara – Canadian Cancer Society
Canadian Cancer Society shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In the winter of 2016, Jennifer’s daughter, Inara, was diagnosed with leukemia. No family can ever be emotionally prepared for this type of news and Jennifer’s family wasn’t any different. ‘I was shocked,’ she recalls.
After losing touch with many people and feeling isolated at times, Jennifer learned about Camp Goodtimes from a fellow family experiencing childhood cancer.
At Camp Goodtimes, the motto is that that childhood doesn’t have to stop because of cancer.
‘The best thing about Camp Goodtimes was seeing our kids having so much fun,’ Jennifer says. ‘Watching them laughing was a welcome reprieve from the intensity and uncertainty of cancer treatment.’
Recently celebrating her daughter’s 5-year anniversary of being cancer-free, Jennifer hopes that research will continue to advance treatment protocols for children with leukemia and that donors know how much supporting Camp Goodtimes can bring to families experiencing childhood cancer.
