Introducing the 9th Episode of the APAC Lung Cancer Consensus Video Series – ASPIRE for Lung Cancer
ASPIRE for Lung Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Introducing the 9th episode of the APAC Lung Cancer Consensus Video Series
In this instalment, we hear from Mr Norman Ng, Convener of the Lung Cancer Patient Concern Group in Hong Kong, who shares his personal journey from pharmaceutical executive to lung cancer patient advocate.
Diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2022, Norman turned his lived experience into a powerful driver for change. Drawing on his professional background and patient perspective, he is now working alongside healthcare leaders and patient groups to amplify patient voices, push for access to new treatments, and strengthen advocacy for lung cancer screening.
Key reflections from Norman include:
- The importance of ensuring patient voices are heard, respected, and supported
- The role of advocacy in shaping policy and expanding access to innovation
- Why building a supportive community is as vital as advancing medical care
- How cancer can be transformed from a personal challenge into a shared purpose
Norman’s journey is a reminder that hope, resilience, and advocacy can transform the future of lung cancer care across the Asia Pacific.
ASPIRE is committed to building deeper partnerships with Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs) throughout the Asia Pacific. We are inviting PAGs to become Patient Advocacy Partners within the ASPIRE Consortium, working alongside us to amplify patient voices and drive lasting change in lung cancer care. Reach out if your organisation would like to be part of this movement.”
