Shushan Hovsepyan: Cancer misinformation can lead to delayed diagnosis and incorrect treatment
Shushan Hovsepyan, Pediatric Oncologist and Clinical Research Coordinator at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“Cancer misinformation can lead to delayed diagnosis and incorrect treatment. The misinformation proliferates quickly with the development of social media.
For instance, on Amazon.com several aloe vera-based products claim to treat radiotherapy dermatitis (which is against medical recommendations), or some sell products ‘infused with stem cells’, without evidence-based support.
Bryant Furlow addressed this significant issue in his article. Look into the article to find more.”
