“In case you missed it: Together with Research!America, members of Congress, and champions for research at The National Institutes of Health, we were pleased to honor NIH Director Monica Bertagnolli! As the world’s largest funder of biomedical research, the NIH has a long history of advancing innovation, including progress against cancer.
Speakers included: Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV); Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD); Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT); Sen. Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA); Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD); Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (R-NC); Other members in attendance: Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO); Rep. Paul Tonko (D-NY); Rep. Lori Trahan (D-MA); Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA); Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY). In addition to Dr. Bertagnolli, there were 34 Institute and Center Directors and Leaders in attendance, including NCI Director Dr. Kimryn Rathmell and the Director of ARPA-H, Renee Wegrzyn.
