Jennifer Douglas: Radiation Appointments were Short – but the Impact was Lasting
Jennifer Douglas, Writer and DCIS Breast Cancer Patient Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Radiation appointments were short—but the impact was lasting.
For weeks, I went every afternoon to our local radiation center. My husband Dave came with me. I’d check in, get changed, lie on the table, and hold still as the machine delivered targeted treatment. The process was efficient—but it required strength, structure, and support.
This week, I recorded the Radiation module for the Encourage membership—a resource I created to walk newly diagnosed breast cancer patients through every step of their journey. This module focuses on what to expect during radiation, how to care for your skin and energy, and how to build your own recovery rhythm.
If you work with early-stage breast cancer patients or know someone facing this part of treatment, please share.”
