Leadership Transition: Brad Cairns to Lead Huntsman Cancer Institute After Mary Beckerle’s Tenure
Huntsman Cancer Institute shared a post on LinkedIn:
“After nearly two decades of visionary leadership, Mary Beckerle, PhD, has announced she will step down as CEO of Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, effective September 1, 2025. Since 2006, Dr. Beckerle has led Huntsman Cancer Institute to become the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Mountain West, expanding our research, clinical care, and national impact.
We are proud to share that Brad Cairns, PhD, renowned cancer cell biologist, professor of oncological sciences, and Huntsman Cancer Institute’s head of academic affairs—will serve as our next CEO. A founding member of Huntsman Cancer Institute and longstanding member of our executive leadership team, Dr. Cairns is poised to guide us into a bold new era of cancer discovery and care.
Learn more about this leadership transition.”
