Douglas Flora: Discussing AI in cancer care alongside some of the most respected scientists and clinicians was truly an honor

Douglas Flora, Executive Medical Director, Oncology Service at

“Today’s panel at the Richard Nixon Foundation event marked a significant milestone in my professional journey. Discussing AI in cancer care alongside some of the most respected scientists and clinicians in our field, many of whom have been my inspirations, was truly an honor. I am glad to report that innovations at St. Elizabeth are well ahead in many areas, and I’m certain we are on the right path embracing these technologies in a thoughtful but purposeful manner.

The integration of AI in cancer screening, research, and treatment stood out as a pivotal topic. I am more convinced than ever that embracing AI is crucial for quality care in oncology. Reflecting on the monumental strides since President Nixon signed the National Cancer Act in 1971, I believe AI will be the catalyst for even more groundbreaking advancements in the next five years.

Events like this highlight the dynamic progress in our field and our shared commitment to enhancing healthcare.

Special thanks to the event organizers, particularly Michelle Barwick for her outstanding leadership. If you need a top-class event planned/executed, I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Happening now, tune into the first panel of the Nixon National Cancer Conference featuring:

Douglas Flora – St. Elizabeth Healthcare
Clifford Hudis – American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)
Edward S. Kim – City of Hope Orange County, City of Hope
Peter Pisters – The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
Andrew Trister – Verily”
