Dean Crowe: No Child Should Have to Carry a Backpack for Cancer
Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It’s hard to see such a small child carrying a backpack, not filled with toys or school supplies, but as part of his treatment.
Meet my friend RallyKid Maverick. He is full of wonder, joy, and curiosity just like any little boy his age. But Maverick is also fighting leukemia.
No child should have to face cancer, and yet every day in America, 47 families hear the devastating words that their child has cancer.
When you look at Maverick, you see both the challenge and the hope.
The challenge is that kids like him are fighting for their lives.
The hope is found in their bright eyes, their determination, and the progress being made through research.
September is ChildhoodCancerAwareness Month. Please join me and Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research in raising awareness that turns into action. More research. Better treatments. Brighter futures.
Together let’s End Childhood Cancer.
Why? Because kids like Maverick deserve to carry backpacks for adventures, not for fighting cancer.”
