Joshua Omale: Shining the Light for Childhood Cancer Equity in 2025 Gold September
Joshua Omale, Campus President at Slum And Rural Health Initiative Network, shared on LinkedIn:
“Day 4 – Childhood Cancer is not Rare
Each year, about 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Yet, survival depends heavily on where a child lives.
In high-income countries, cure rates can reach 80%, while in low- and middle-income countries, many children don’t even get a diagnosis until it’s too late.
This is why awareness and advocacy matter. Childhood cancer is not rare. Behind every statistic is a child, a family, a future.
This Gold September, let’s keep shining the light until equity is the norm everywhere.”
