Gary Puckrein: Our healthcare system needs new policy from thoughtful leaders
Gary Puckrein, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF), shared on LinkedIn:
“Healthcare is the largest sector in the American economy. It represents about 17.3% of GDP. Healthcare employs more workers than any other sector, including manufacturing. In 2022, Americans spent $4.5 Trillion–with a capitol T–on healthcare. What were they trying to buy? They were trying to buy longevity, but a combination of inefficiencies, rationing, profit taking, and inequities is causing the system to under deliver. Our healthcare system needs new policy from thoughtful leaders who can see deep into the 21st Century to help Americans get their monies worth.”
