Kenji López-Cuevas: Forum for Cancer Care Planners 2025

“In a working meeting with the Secretary of Salud of the Federal Government, Dr. David Kershenobich S.
I thank our President of Mexico, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, for her congratulations derived from the appointment I received as the first Latin American Tesorero of the Union for International Cancer Control, 2024-2026, and her indication to carry out this meeting.
Likewise, I appreciate the kindness and formality of our Secretary of Health, with whom I had the opportunity to share the Work Agenda that we have at the UICC, led by our President, Ulrika Årehed Kågström, in addition to formally delivering an invitation to participate in our “Forum for Cancer Care Planners 2025”, to be held next week in Geneva, Switzerland, in which I will have the honor to participate.
I am grateful to share that we are exploring avenues for co-participation between the SALUD México and the Cancer Warriors Foundation of Mexico to increase the cáncer care in the most vulnerable areas of the country.
Together, the government and civil society can expand our results. You can count on us.”
Kenji López-Cuevas, recently appointed as the first Latin American Treasurer of the UICC, met with Mexico’s Secretary of Health to discuss collaborative efforts in cancer care. He formally invited the Secretary to the 2025 Forum for Cancer Care Planners in Geneva and shared plans to expand care access in vulnerable regions through cooperation between SALUD México and Cancer Warriors Foundation.
