“An Unforgettable Honor.
I am incredibly humbled and proud to have received the Research Distinguished Award in Public Health – Qatar University – presented to me personally by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.
To stand before His Highness and be recognized for my research in public health was a moment I will carry with me forever. This recognition is not only a personal milestone but a tribute to the power of public health research in driving meaningful change for our communities. It reflects the collective effort of mentors, colleagues, collaborators, and institutions – especially the Qatar Cancer Society, where I’ve had the privilege to serve and grow.
To be acknowledged at a national level, in the presence of such visionary leadership, is a profound honor that strengthens my commitment to advancing cancer awareness, health equity, and evidence-based advocacy across the region.
