Shrenik Shah: I may have lost my voice, but I found a purpose that speaks louder than words
Shrenik Shah, Patient Ambassador and Moderator of Fridays with Shrenik Live webinar at Indian Cancer Society, posted on LinkedIn:
“Wait… you don’t have vocal cords? Then how do people understand you so clearly?
Someone asked me this after a talk. And I smiled.
Because my voice doesn’t come from my throat anymore. It comes from something deeper.
I speak using my Hands of Hope, a method I created when cancer took away my natural voice in 1997. What began as survival has now become a symbol of strength.
Despite a permanent speaking disability, here’s the journey so far:
- 9,000+ hours of global speaking.
- 100,000+ lives touched.
- 1,000+ shows.
- 30,000+ counselling sessions.
- Featured on Times Square, NY.
- Spoken at 5 TEDx platforms.
- Delivered sessions at IIMA, ICAI, and global wellness summits.
I may have lost my voice, but I found a purpose that speaks louder than words.
Every time I walk on stage, I carry the stories of cancer survivors, the dreams of those who were told “you can’t,” and the quiet courage it takes to begin again.
Because the strongest voices aren’t always the loudest.
They’re the ones that refuse to be silenced.”
