Jean-Charles Soria: Tumor-Infiltrating Clonal Hematopoiesis
Jean-Charles Soria, SVP and Oncology Therapeutic Area Head of Amgen, posted on LinkedIn:
“CHIP is a common, age-related condition where mutated blood stem cells expand without causing blood disorders. CHIP raises the risk of hematological malignancies, chronic inflammatory diseases (like heart and lung disease), and lung cancer.
This manuscript shows that CHIP somatic clones in blood—especially TET2 mutant ones—migrate into tumors, reshape immunity, drive progression, and promote recurrence. The ability of a somatic clonal expansion in the hematopoietic compartment, to regulate malignant progression in another tissue represents a new perspective in cancer biology.”
